A major player in the development of the market share of the E. Leclerc brand, the purchasing centre La Scalandes is rolling out its master plan in the South-West of France to adapt its logistics infrastructure to its growth. APRC supported it in this process by delivering two logistics buildings in early 2024.
A few years ago, La Scalandes wrote a master plan that pursues two major objectives:
“For us, this meant rethinking the dynamics of our three organizational pillars on which our growth is based: people, buildings, IT,” explains Claude Bouillard, Managing Director of La Scalandes. “It is in this context that, after having equipped the Mont-de-Marsan site in 2021 with a building dedicated to frozen products, we entrusted APRC with the construction of this new platform, which includes two buildings:<\/p>\n\n
This ReverseLog building, positioned at the heart of a site that now has 6 buildings, is all the more strategic as it contributes to pursuing the ambition to optimize the carbon neutrality of the E. Leclerc brand. “For us, the challenge is that our vehicles never come back empty, by collecting all the waste from shopping centres: pallets, packaging, plastics, cardboard and all other recyclable products,” says Claude Bouillard. “In the same virtuous perspective, these new infrastructures are 100% covered with photovoltaic panels for shared self-consumption with existing buildings.”<\/p>\n\n
“The call for tenders for these two new buildings was won by APRC, which was the most convincing, even though it was one of their competitors who had built the building dedicated to frozen products,” says Claude Bouillard. “This type of project, especially when confronted with such a unique context as the war in Ukraine and its impact on material costs, is above all a human story. The commercial insight during pre-sales and the adaptability shown during construction to work with us in finding solutions that would respect the budget set during the CPI demonstrate all of Karim Abdellaoui\u2019s qualities as a true conductor. The success of the joint approach to optimising the site relied on him, striking a balance between cost reduction and adjustments to services, by doing things differently and in new ways from what was originally planned, in order to remain within the initial budget”.<\/p>\n\n
